Hellooooooooo out there!

Hows everyone? Im doing pretty good. About time for a nap though! I had a song stuck in my head today. Then I realized that it was a jingle from a commercial they played when I was a kid. Do you remember the "C&H Pure Cane Sugar" commercials? Made in Hawaii, grown in the sun? I had that song stuck in my head today. I clearly remember the commercial and remember singing along. Hawaiin ladies dancing with grass skirts on.

I started thinking about some of the other commercials from when I was a child. "Weebles wobble but they dont fall down", "A Slinky, a Slinky, everyone loves a Slinky", "Give it to Mikey, he'll eat anything". Do you remember the ones for Silly Putty? My mom hated that one. Especially after she bought it for me, I left it in my pocket, it went through the laundry and ended up on everything in the dryer. I never had silly putty again. EVER lol

It's amazing to me that kids these days don't enjoy being a kid anymore. Its all about being grown up. WHen I was a kid, being grown up was putting play makeup on my giant Barbie doll head. Or cutting the hair off of my Barbies lol I had many bald Barbies. I wish I had it now, it would probably be worth a small fortune, my Donny and Marie Osmond dolls. They held theyre own microphones and had a set of clothes to change them into. Those were the days. I dont remember what they were called, but I had a sand type of toy also. It was only about 1/4 inch thick and had white and blue sand in it. Oh yes, The Magic Window! You could also get one that was white and pink sand that glowed in the dark. You turned it around and made mountain shapes or whatever your little mind could fathom. I remember getting the glow in the dark one for my 6th birthday. I was so excited. I tore it out of the cardboard display box, ran to my sisters room, turned on her lamp, put it on top to "charge" it and ran off to play. an hour later there was a nice light bulb sized hole in the center of it. My parents were shocked it didnt start a fire and they bought me a new one later that week on the condition I didnt put it on lamps anymore.

Kids are in such a hurry to grow up. They dont realize until they really are grown, how precious being a kid is. I can only hope that one day things will change and kids will be kids. Be kind to them, let them play, remember what it was like when you were 5...
